About md5hash.net

Learn how md5hash.net calculates hashes locally, handles file queues and HMAC keys, and separates checksum matching from trust.

A local-first hash workbench

md5hash.net provides eight related tools: MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-384, SHA-512, HMAC, CRC32 and file checksums. They share a processing engine, not a single algorithm. Each page explains the input, full output length and appropriate limitations. The MD5 homepage is a direct workbench rather than a password-decryption service.

Where processing happens

Text and selected file bytes are processed in your browser. File hashing uses a Web Worker and incremental reads, with one file processed at a time. HMAC keys stay in the current tab's memory and are not written into downloads, URLs or browser storage. Ordinary requests for the site and its assets still reach the hosting service.

What the result does not mean

A digest match is not a malware verdict or a publisher authentication check. MD5 and SHA-1 have collision limitations. CRC32 is an error-detection checksum rather than a security hash. Even a modern plain digest needs a trustworthy reference. See the practical guides before relying on a number in a security workflow.

Project status and contact

The public operator identity and contact address have not yet been confirmed. No company name, postal address or certification is invented here. The contact, terms and privacy-draft pages remain outside the sitemap until publication details are supplied. Advertising and analytics requests are disabled in this build because real identifiers and consent configuration have not been provided.
